/ˌsɪŋɡjʊˈlarɪti/ noun The state, fact, quality, or condition of being singular.
This photographic project emerges from a deep,
personal inquiry into solitude and the subconscious pull toward
spaces that exist on the fringes—forgotten, isolated,
and seemingly detached from the world.
The pandemic forced an intense reckoning with the self,
unraveling a cycle of endless introspection where questions
loomed but answers remained elusive. Seeking refuge from
my own thoughts, I gravitated toward these distant,
unpeopled landscapes without intention,
only to realise they mirrored my internal state.
The silence of these places did not merely offer an escape;
it became an active force, stripping away distractions
and allowing me to tune into the cryptic symphony
of wind, rustling shrubs, and unseen presences.
In these spaces, I found subjects that existed in a paradox—
distinctive yet concealed, present yet unnoticed.
Their quiet resilience resonated with my own experience of
feeling like an outcast lost in thought,
searching for meaning in a world that often felt indifferent.
Making images became an attempt to decipher these emotions,
to externalise my vulnerabilities, insecurities, and longing for connection.
The project carries a reflection of the feeling of singular existence,
a visual echo of the moments when I stood still, waiting for something—
perhaps an answer, perhaps just the comfort of knowing that
I was not alone in this quiet search. Swipe
